With roots with the dissenters from the Church of England, the Baptist tradition was established in what is now the United States by Roger Williams, with the first Baptist church being built in Providence, Rhode Island in 1638. After spreading the Baptist tradition throughout the United States, the Triennial Baptist Convention. The American Baptist Churches USA is the direct continuation of the Triennial Baptist Convention, and is considered one of the "7 sisters" of American mainline Protestantism.
Our Mission
Ancient Paths Baptists is organization dedicated to the revitalization, revival, and reformation of the American Baptist Churches USA (ABCUSA). In recent decades, membership has declined due to theological liberalism and general apathy about denominational loyalty. We seek to reverse that.
At The Ancient Paths Baptists, we dedicate ourselves to providing insightful information about the Baptist faith, exploring its core beliefs, principles, and practices to educate and inspire all who seek spiritual knowledge.
Strategy
Reforming the ABCUSA and combating theological liberalism is straightforward; all that is needed is for faithful Christians to attend, become involved in, and advocate biblical Baptist principles in these churches. This means raising concerns to church leadership about unbiblical practices or teachings, becoming involved in the ministries, and take an active leadership or service role. For the overall denomination, we know that churches that do not speak the truth found in the Bible do not last, but those that do will. Given time, the liberal churches within the denomination will fade, while the biblical churches will thrive. When this happens, the biblical churches will become the majority in the denomination, and will be able to make the changes needed.

About
The Ancient Paths Baptists is an organization dedicated to confronting the liberalism that has developed in the mainline American Protestant denominations in previous decades. We derive our name from Jeremiah 6:16 "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls". With the increasingly non-religious times we are living with, people are feeling a sense of aimlessness and isolation. At times like these in the past, people have looked to those that came before them to see where they derived their meaning from. For the United States, the mainline Protestant Churches stood as a moral authority, community builder, and a place to belong and invest in. The downward trend in these denominations has left a hole in the societal and moral fabric. Unfortunately, non-denominational and conservative offshoots are unable to fill the gap that has been left by the decline of the mainlines due to a lack of resources, long-term commitment, and historic connection to their communities. Accordingly, we as Christians feel a call to revive our country, and the only lasting and sustainable way to do that is to retake and revitalize the mainline Protestant denominations. The Ancient Path Baptists act as the Baptist branch of the broader "Reconquista" movement.
